Solenoid at 9 or 24 volts when ?
Very often I am asked, when it is better to use solenoid valves with 9 volt solenoid "bistable" and when with solenoid 24 volts. ?
The answer cannot be dry! There are questions to ask before deciding
1) Can you get with the cable from the cockpit of the solenoid valves to the control unit in the house or in a special box?
A first evaluation is the physical one, and that is how complicated it is to bring the multipolar cable from the control unit, which is usually inside a house or box, to the cockpit of the solenoid valves ?. Is there already a passage that can be used through a cockpit or corrugated or is it necessary to create it?
2) What does it cost to bring the corrugated (recommended for a correct installation) and the electrical cable from the cockpit to the control unit?
Once identified if present or not the passage I have to calculate what the cable costs (composed of a multipolar linked to the number of solenoid valves +1 which is the common) and the corrugated for the meters .. it also remembers its laying takes time and has a cost. How much could it cost to create the new step? consider the material calculation (corrugated, wall drilling and related sheaths) + labor calculation so they are not a few euros if you have not already prepared a passage .. the cable just a 1.5mm multipolar because you are using it for the 24-volt version of alternating current. Already now after the first accounts you can get some ideas. Consider that a PROFESSIONAL battery-powered control unit is put inside the cockpit on the wall or under the lid and ends there. It runs on 9-volt batteries (standard) and lasts from 1 to 2 seasons and are available from 1,2,4,6 stations.
3) What kind of control do I want to have on my system?
I want to check the standard system, that is a water source (whether it is aqueduct or pump does the same) with relative solenoid valves or more water sources, sensors, management via Wifi, consumption / leak monitoring, monitoring the state of soil moisture and much more ..
4) Do I have multiple wells? same area or in separate areas ?
Does the system develop in a single cockpit or several wells? are they near or far away? Once these points have been clarified, the evaluation takes place both for the price but for the system you want to obtain.
